If Von Miller was available at No. 3, there's a chance the Bills would have snagged the pass rusher. Instead, they were more than happy to get Marcell Dareus — whether he was a consolation prize or not we don't know, but he has been the immediate contributor the team expected.

Dareus, however, isn't an edge rusher like Miller, and that void on defense has been very apparent. Aside from a 10-sack explosion against the woeful Redskins' O-line, the Bills have six sacks in the other nine games. The Shawne Merriman experiment didn't work, but his injury paved way for extra playing time for second-year LBs Arthur Moats and Danny Batten, two players we hear the team is very excited about. The early returns, though, have not been impressive. The pair has combined for one sack this season. Moats has been pressuring the passer — he has five QB hits, but as one source told PFW, "You don't notice Batten, and you don't notice Moats." Neither player is a bust, but it confirms the team's need for an edge rusher next season.
