The Bears made a couple of roster moves Monday, and more will be coming soon.
Chicago placed LS Patrick Mannelly, who tore an ACL on Sunday, on injured reserve, ending his season, and also waived rookie DE Mario Addison.
Mannelly has played 215 games for the Bears — the most in franchise history — and his streak of 147 consecutive games played will come to an end in Week 12.
Addison, who signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent, appeared in three games this season.
The Bears have two open spots on the active roster and are expected to fill the vacancies with a quarterback to back up Caleb Hanie while Jay Cutler is out with his thumb injury. The team is also taking a look at veteran long-snappers, head coach Lovie Smith said Monday.
FB Tyler Clutts handled the long-snapping for the Bears on Sunday after Mannelly left the game.
