Some Saints observers expected Sedrick Ellis to take another step toward becoming one of the league's better three-technique tackles when the season began, but Ellis, who has started every game, has only one-half sack, which he was credited with in Week Five. He doesn't have any other tackles for loss and has been credited with only two QB hits, both of which came in the first two games of the season. The Saints rely on him to help bring pressure from the interior, and he's not supplying much of it. Ellis has broken up four passes, so he has caused some disruption at the line of scrimmage, but there's no doubt the team is hoping he shows more explosiveness when he returns from a Week 11 bye. Ellis, the seventh overall pick in the 2008 draft, did appear on the injury report with an ankle issue in Weeks Eight and Nine but was removed from the report in Week 10.
