Here's a look at a key matchup heading into Sunday's battle between the Chargers and Bears.
Chargers WR Vincent Jackson vs. Bears CB Charles Tillman
After doing a fine job of limiting Lions WR Calvin Johnson in Week 10, Tillman will get another chance to showcase his skills against one of the league's top receivers on Sunday.
The Bears have been playing more man coverage since making Chris Conte and Major Wright the starting safeties and, while a disruptive pass rush and Matthew Stafford's struggles in Week 10 no doubt made a significant impact on the outcome, the physical play of Tillman, who returned an interception for a touchdown on a pass intended for Johnson, was a big reason for Chicago's success against the Lions.
Like Johnson, Jackson has great size and can go up to get a jump ball. He runs routes well and is very quick making cuts. Tillman, however, also has very good size and length for his position. If the Bears' pass rush is able to exploit a San Diego offensive line that is very vulnerable because of injuries, QB Philip Rivers won't have time to wait for deep routes to develop, and it will make Tillman's job more manageable.
Rivers was sacked six times in the Chargers' Week 10 loss to the Raiders, and Jackson was held to only one catch for 22 yards.
