If the Dolphins were going to win games this season, it'd be because of the defense. So it's no coincidence their first two wins came in the team's best defensive performances, when its best defensive player, ILB Karlos Dansby, finally played to his potential.

Dansby told reporters on Sunday that he came to camp above his playing weight. He is finally back down to 246 pounds.

We had heard earlier in the season that the groin injury that was slowing Dansby, which was hurting the LB corps overall, was noteworthy when diagnosing the problems on "D." Not only is he now healthy, but he is in the playing shape the team needs.

Dansby had 10 tackles, a sack and an interception in the win over the Redskins and 10 tackles in the team's win over the Chiefs. He had just 22 combined tackles in the team's first five games. Dansby's high level of play takes some pressure off ILB Kevin Burnett, who received heat earlier in the season but is starting to make some plays.
