The Chargers have placed OG Kris Dielman on injured reserve and signed OL Ikechuku Ndukwe, the team announced Wednesday.

Dielman suffered a concussion against the Jets in Week Seven and has not played since then. It had been reported that he had a seizure on the team plane after the game.

Ndukwe started 15 games with the Dolphins in 2008 and three games with the Chiefs in 2009. He has not played in an NFL game since 2009.

The Way We See It

This is a tough blow for a Chargers offensive line that has struggled protecting Philip Rivers in the last few games. Dielman was one of their best linemen and protection has faltered, especially against the Raiders in Week 10 when OLT Marcus McNeil left because of injury.

With Dielman lost for the season, OG Tyronne Green will continue to start in his place.
