Here is a look at how the Patriots' first-year players performed in the team's Week 10 win over the Jets.

ORT Nate Solder (first round, 17th overall) — Solder was downgraded to questionable with a concussion on Saturday but was able to play in Sunday night's win. He played the role of blocking tight end. According to ESPN Boston, Solder played 11 offensive snaps. With the Patriots rushing for only 60 yards and a 2.1-yard average, with a long gain of nine, and a third-down conversion rate of only 31 percent, his play didn't appear to have much impact.

RB Stevan Ridley (3, 73) — Ridley got five carries but gained only four yards rushing and had a long of three yards. He's getting his touches but has not been the answer in the run game.

LB Jeff Tarpinian (undrafted) — Tarpinian got his first career start and made four tackles. Injuries to Brandon Spikes and Dane Fletcher thrust Tarpinian into a key role for the Pats' defense, and he played in 22 of the team's 72 defensive snaps (per ESPN Boston).

S Sterling Moore (undrafted) — One of the bigger surprises of the night was Moore, an undrafted free agent who started at safety with Patrick Chung inactive. Moore played in every defensive snap and made one tackle for the Patriots. Moore primarily played corner in college. "I think in Sterling's case, he's got a number of different skills that he's got some things going for him at safety, he has some things going for him at star, he's got some things going for him at corner on the perimeter," head coach Bill Belichick said on Monday.

NotesRB Shane Vereen (2,56) and QB Ryan Mallett (3, 74) were both inactive. ... LS Danny Aiken (undrafted) was perfect on his snaps and assisted on a special-teams tackle.
