The Bills not only lost to the Cowboys on Sunday, they also lost one of their most important offensive players.

C Eric Wood, who was named last week to the PFW mid-season All-Pro team, tore his ACL against Dallas and will miss the remainder of the season. The injury occurred when Wood was chasing down Cowboys CB Terrence Newman following a third-quarter interception. The center had to be carted into the locker room following the play.

In his first season as the Bills' full-time center, Wood has been terrific as both a run and pass blocker. He has started all nine games for the team this season after playing most of his career prior at offensive guard.

Bills rookie LB Chris White also tore his ACL and is done for the season.

The way we see it

This is a brutal blow to the Bills who are falling apart after a 5-2 start to the season. Wood was the leader of the O-line and this will involve some shuffling. When Wood left, OG Kraig Urbik moved to center and reserve Colin Brown stepped in at guard. With Demetrius Bell still out, OLG Andy Levitre has needed to play left tackle. Head coach Chan Gailey said that Levitre will play center and Chris Hairston will play left tackle.
