Eagles WR DeSean Jackson will be inactive for the team's Week 10 game against the Cardinals after missing a team meeting on Saturday. The news was first reported by the Philadelphia Daily News.

Jackson, who averages a team-high 17.3 yards per reception, apparently missed the Eagles' special-teams meeting on Saturday because his alarm never went off. He is the team's primary punt returner. According to NFL Network's Albert Breer, a team source said they had "no choice" but to bench Jackson against Arizona.

The way we see it

Jackson has not had the type of season one would expect from a player looking for a new contract. He has been inconsistent on the field, and this recent news shows he hasn't been too productive off the field, either. Expect Jason Avant to see more targets today with Jackson out.
