It was a forgettable moment in a great game in Week Nine, but the Giants' Da'Rel Scott took a toss to the right and carried five yards for the first regular-season rushing attempt of his career. It's almost certainly not the last we have seen of Scott, who could become more of a regular as he appears to be taking over the Giants' KR job going forward. And there's a tasty irony, too, in that injured RB Ahmad Bradshaw (like Scott, a seventh-round pick) got his start as a rookie as a kick returner and didn't take his first NFL handoff until Week 12 in 2007. Four short weeks later, he had a 151-yard, one-TD game against the Bills to help vault the Giants into the playoffs, and shortly after that, Bradshaw was the team's leading rusher during their Super Bowl run. With Bradshaw battling a foot injury, it would not be shocking to see the speedy Scott be the next stunning late-round runner to make it big late in his rookie season. Said offensive coordinator Kevin Gilbride, "Some chances are coming his way."
