Chargers OLT Marcus McNeill and Raiders WR-KR Jacoby Ford both left the first quarter of their Thursday-night game with injuries.
McNeill was carted off the field after suffering what the Chargers termed a "stinger," and they said he wouldn't return. McNeill was hurt while blocking on a running play, as Raiders LB Aaron Curry hit a pulling McNeill with what appeared to be the top of Curry's helmet. McNeill fell backward, and the back of his helmet seemed to hit the turf at Qualcomm Stadium.
Brandyn Dombrowski replaced McNeill at the important OLT spot. San Diego's offensive line was already without OG Kris Dielman, who was sitting out with the effects of a concussion.
Meanwhile, Ford was hurt at the end of a 41-yard pass play late in the first quarter. He was helped off the field by two trainers and taken to the locker room with a left foot injury.
Ford's departure left Denarius Moore and Darrius Heyward-Bey as the Raiders' primary wide receivers.
