The Rams have activated Mark Clayton from the physically unable to perform list Wednesday and he said he will play Sunday against the Browns, according PFW Rams correspondent Jim Thomas.
To make room for him on the roster, the Rams released QB Tom Brandstater.
Clayton was on the PUP list after having knee surgery in October 2010. In five games last season, Clayton had 306 receiving yards and two touchdowns for St. Louis.
The way we see it
The best guess is that Clayton will replace the injured Greg Salas in the slot, even though he played flanker most of the time for the Rams last year before suffering his knee injury. He developed an instant chemistry with QB Sam Bradford last season after being obtained from Baltimore, and he and fellow newcomer Brandon Lloyd, who is off to a good start in a Rams uniform, should fortify the team's passing game the second half of the season.
