The Patriots' offensive, defensive and special-teams players of the week from their Week Nine loss to the Giants.
Offense: WR Wes Welker
Welker made some clutch, gutsy catches late in this game for the Patriots, finishing 9-136-0, catching nine of 10 balls thrown his way. He made a couple huge first downs and fought through some big hits. It was his first 100-yard receiving game since Week Five. TE Rob Gronkowski gets an honorable mention for his go-ahead touchdown.
Defense: DL Vince Wilfork
The defense struggled again, but Wilfork put together a good performance on the D-line, notching a tackle for loss, two QB hits and four total tackles. He got penetration and helped the D-line put some pressure on Eli Manning while keeping Brandon Jacobs from having a big game.
Special teams: P Zoltan Mesko
It was another tough game for PK Stephen Gostkowski and the return units, but Mesko punted pretty well, finishing with a net average of 45.0 yards on his five punts, four of which were fair-caught and the one return went for zero yards.
