Patriots DT Ron Brace was activated from the physically-unable-to-perform list on Saturday, making him eligible to play in Week Nine if necessary.

Brace, who suffered an elbow injury at the end of the 2010 season that kept him out the first half of this season, provides depth at a position of need for the Patriots. As a college player, Brace played defensive tackle in the 4-3, the scheme New England currently runs. During his first two years in the league, Brace lined up at end in the 3-4 defense.

DT Albert Haynesworth is questionable for the Week Nine matchup against the Giants because of a back injury, leading to some speculation that Brace could see immediate playing time.

The Patriots had a roster spot available for Brace after releasing S Ross Ventrone on Thursday.

Late on Saturday evening, the Patriots downgraded second-year WR Taylor Price to questionable with a hamstring injury. Price was expected to become a bigger part of the offense in Sunday's game.
