After missing the entire 2010 season because of torn pectoral muscle, the Broncos were eager to see Elvis Dumervil return to their lineup this summer. Moving from outside linebacker to defensive end in their new 4-3 defense, Dumervil had hopes of duplicating his stat line from '09, when he led the NFL with 17 sacks.

However that hasn't come close to happening. Through Week Eight, Dumervil had zero sacks and eight tackles, and had missed two games because of a shoulder injury. He has yet to look anywhere close to 100 percent in a game, and there are concerns that last season's devastating injury has lingered longer than the player or team expected. Head coach John Fox has said he's not worried about Dumervil's production and that his entire body of work needs to be analyzed, not just the sack numbers. Still, we hear that a major reason why the Denver defense hasn't performed well in recent weeks is partially due to the lineman's inability to rush the quarterback like he once did.
