The Jaguars claimed former Browns WR Brian Robiskie off of waivers and placed WR Mike Sims-Walker on injured reserve, the team announced Wednesday.
The Browns waived Robiskie, a 2009 second-round pick, on Tuesday. He made two starts and caught three passes for 25 yards in 2011.
Sims-Walker left the Jaguars in the offseason and signed with the Rams after spending his first three seasons in Jacksonville. After being waived by the Rams prior to Week Six, he re-signed with Jacksonville for a second stint with the team.
The way we see it
Jaguars QB Blaine Gabbert, at or near the bottom of the league in virtually every passing category, needs all the help he can get right now. Jacksonville's receiving corps is among the worst in the league, and Robiskie is a big target with sure hands who will have an opportunity to make an impact immediately.
Sims-Walker's second stint in Jacksonville ends with merely a whimper, as the enigmatic wideout caught only one pass for 11 yards in two games.
