Prior to their game on "Monday Night Football" against the Chiefs, the Chargers made a change to their roster.

On Monday afternoon, the team signed LB Bront Bird from their practice squad and released WR/PR Bryan Walters.

Bird will provide depth at linebacker and be a factor on special teams. San Diego had to place OLB Larry English on injured reserve last week because of a broken foot, leaving room on the depth chart for Bird, an undrafted rookie with no NFL experience.

Walters, also an undrafted rookie, had just three receptions on the season. His main impact came on punt returns, but that job is expected to be taken by recently-demoted CB Antoine Cason.
