The Bengals added CB Adam "Pacman" Jones to the 53-man active roster, the team announced Friday. He started the 2011 season on the physically-unable-to-perform list.
Jones played only five games last season with the Bengals before being sidelined by a neck injury. The fifth-year veteran has five career interceptions and four punt-return touchdowns.
The way we see it
The Bengals' defense has played very well so far this season, so the addition of Jones can only help. He always has been a talented player, but off-the-field issues have derailed the career of the former top-10 pick.
If he is healthy, he can find a role on the defense and contribute by using his speed and cover ability. He is also an excellent punt returner and figures to get some opportunities in that role as well.
