The Vikings are in real trouble in the defensive backfield, with Antoine Winfield hurt, Cedric Griffin struggling, Chris Cook charged with a crime and suspended, and Husain Abdullah regressing badly. This season, they have allowed monster games to opposing WRs Calvin Johnson (two second-half TDs), Dwayne Bowe (52-yard TD) and Greg Jennings (147 yards, 79-yard TD), who went hog-wild against them, really hemming in only Arizona's Larry Fitzgerald (4-66-0 receiving) in a one-off performance of relative excellence. The news about the Cook domestic assault arrest was extremely disappointing to the Vikings, who really thought the young corner was taking the next step in his development on the field and his maturity off of it. He has played at a high level this season, but the charges against him are very serious, and the Vikings have been plagued in recent years with oodles of bad press for off-field incidents. His status with the team won't be determined until the offseason, most likely.
