For the second year in a row, DLE Chris Clemons is lighting it up under the radar. "When are they going to start noticing this guy?" one daily team observer said of Clemons, who entered Week Eight tied for fifth in the NFC with six sacks. "I mean, there's a reason he made 11 sacks (tied for seventh in the NFC) last year." Clemons' speed and explosiveness, coupled with a perpetual chip on his shoulder, are making him a consistently disruptive force again this season. "He's just so relentless," the observer said. "He just never gives up on a play. He's always spinning and ducking around his guy. And he's been a big factor in the run defense, too." Strong chemistry with fellow D-line starters Red Bryant, Brandon Mebane and Alan Branch, all of whom have had their moments, certainly hasn't hurt. "They all go out of their way to cover each other's backs," the observer said. "It's a unit with real good camaraderie."
