Saints QB Drew Brees, Bears LB Lance Briggs and Packers PK Mason Crosby were named NFC Players of the Week for Week Seven.
Brees led a prolific Saints offense during their 62-7 annihilation of the Colts Sunday night. He threw more touchdowns (five) than incompletions, as the Saints' offense scored on each of its first nine possessions. This is the 11th time Brees has been named Player of the Week.
Briggs had six tackles, including one for loss, one interception and two passes defensed in the Bears' 24-18 win over the Buccaneers in London. He is the second Bears defender to win a player of the week honor this season, joining Brian Urlacher, who won in Week One. This is the second time that Briggs has been named Player of the Week in his career.
Crosby made all four of his field-goal attempts, including a 58-yarder, as the Packers defeated the Vikings 33-27 in Minnesota. The 58-yard field goal is a Packer record. This is the fourth time Crosby has been named Player of the Week and second time this season (Week Five).
