Just a couple of months after convincing him to come out of retirement, the Colts have placed Kerry Collins on injured reserve, likely ending the career of the veteran quarterback.
Collins, signed when the Colts realized Peyton Manning would not be ready for Week One, struggled in his three games as the Colts' starter. He completed 49 percent of his passes and was sacked five times before being removed from the lineup in favor of Curtis Painter. Though he has not made any public statement, it is widely believed that the 38-year-old will retire once again.
The Colts also placed FB Chris Gronkowski on I.R. To fill the vacant roster spots, the team signed OG Jamey Richard and OT Michael Toudouze to their 53-man roster.
