Buccaneers RB Earnest Graham was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a torn Achilles tendon injury. Pro Football Talk first reported the injury on Sunday.

Graham left Sunday's game against the Bears in London in the first quarter and was carted off. He did not return.

Graham entered Sunday with 193 rushing yards and 25 catches for 165 receiving yards. He started Sunday's game, as LeGarrette Blount missed his second game in a row with a knee injury.

Kregg Lumpkin replaced Graham and had eight rushes for 15 yards and six catches for 37 yards.

The team also waived LS Christian Yount.

PFW fantasy spin

As fans and fantasy owners, we root for players like Graham, who give 150 percent, are team players and someone you can point to and tell your kids what hard work accomplishes. As fantasy owners, we can only move on. As a starter two weeks ago against the Saints, Graham went 17-109-0 rushing and 2-22-0 receiving, showing us his potential as a fill-in for starter LeGarrette Blount (knee).

Blount's the real concern, and the team has a bye this week to give him extra rest without missing a game. Reports have Blount's recovery time from one to six weeks from the date of the injury, and four weeks will have passed when the team plays again in Week Nine. The speculation is that he could be back after the bye, and the team needs him.

Kregg Lumpkin was unimpressive replacing Graham on Sunday. Lumpkin went 8-15-0 rushing and 6-37-0 receiving on eight targets, and if not for his receiving game, he would be a big disappointment. His ability in the passing game gives him value in PPR (point-per-reception) leagues. Backs are like gold in season, and though the team could bring in a veteran back, grab Lumpkin and stash him in case he gets the start in Week Nine.
