The Texans will be without FS Danieal Manning for at least four weeks after he had surgery on his left fibula Monday, head coach Gary Kubiak announced.

Manning, a free-agent acquisition, suffered the injury in Sunday's win over the Titans. In seven starts this season, Manning has 32 tackles and two interceptions.

Kubiak said that rookie CB Brandon Harris and second-year CB Sherrick McManis can help the team's depth in the secondary.

The way we see it

The Texans will miss Manning, who, along with CB Johnathan Joseph, has helped spark a dramatic turnaround in the Houston secondary. S Troy Nolan, who was already playing regularly in the nickel, will step into the starting lineup, with CB Brice McCain also being in the mix for more playing time.
