Redskins QB Rex Grossman was hospitalized Monday and remains there Tuesday as doctors treat him for pneumonia and a fever, head coach Mike Shanahan said.

Grossman spent Sunday's game in the locker room, hooked up to an IV. John Beck started for the Redskins in the loss to Carolina.

"He's in there today, we'll keep him in tomorrow, hopefully have him back Wednesday or Thursday," Shanahan said of Grossman.

There are two quarterbacks on the Redskins' 53-man roster. Jonathan Crompton is the team's practice-squad QB.
