The Steelers, who have fought through several injuries this season, will have to overcome the loss of another key player following the news Saturday that DE Aaron Smith has been placed on injured reserve. Smith hurt his foot vs. the Texans in Week Four and has been out since.
In his place, the team signed DE Corbin Bryant from its practice squad.
Smith had eight tackles in four games this season before the injury. He was replaced in the starting lineup by Ziggy Hood.
This is the third year in a row and the fourth of the last five seasons in which Smith has missed considerable time because of injuries. The 13th-year veteran has played in only 15 games over the past three seasons after having played in all 16 games from 2000 to 2006.
