Browns QB Colt McCoy has impressed in flashes in 2011, particularly in Cleveland's first three games, but he has completed less than 50 percent of his throws in 3-of-5 starts, far from ideal in a West Coast scheme. Browns president Mike Holmgren, who met with the Cleveland media Oct. 20, indicated that the club isn't opposed to continuing to look for a franchise quarterback if it believes it must. Said Holmgren: "Are we committed to Colt? Absolutely. Will we be committed to him after the season is over? I will always be committed to our players on this team." Continued Holmgren, "Does it guarantee him the starting quarterback position for the next however many years? ... (We'll) see. He's doing everything we're asking him to do, and I want him to do well." In short, this is a key stretch for the second-year quarterback from Texas.
