To create room for newly acquired WR Brandon Lloyd on their roster, the Rams have released veteran WR Mike Sims-Walker. PFW correspondent Jim Thomas of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch first reported the news.
Sims-Walker was supposed to be the top target for Sam Bradford this season after signing with the Rams following the lockout. Instead, he was a free-agent disappointment, catching 11 passes over four games with zero touchdowns. He was a healthy scratch from the team's Week Six loss to the Packers on Sunday.
Lloyd, acquired from the Broncos earlier Monday in a trade, is expected to come in and be the Rams' No. 1 receiver.
