Here's our take on the Browns' top offensive, defensive and special-teams players from Cleveland's 24-17 loss at Oakland on Sunday.
Offense: WR Greg Little
The rookie from North Carolina was targeted 12 times, catching six passes and 72 yards, all team-highs. Little, who moved into the starting lineup in Week Six, is one of Cleveland's top options in the passing game. The Browns' other first-team wideout, Mohamed Massaquoi, had a TD catch but caught just three passes for 30 yards (seven targets).
Defense: MLB D'Qwell Jackson
The club's leading tackler, Jackson again paced the Browns with nine tackles, including two for loss. He has proven that when healthy, and no matter the defensive scheme, you can pencil him in for 9-10 tackles with confidence. Honorable mention goes to rookie DE Jabaal Sheard and DT Phil Taylor, who each notched a sack.
Special teams: PK Phil Dawson
Dawson hit a beautiful onside kick that rookie DB James Dockery recovered with 1:06 left and Cleveland trailing 24-17. Also, Dawson connected on a 47-yard field goal. He has yet to miss a FG attempt in seven tries this season. Overall, though, this was a terrible day for the Browns' special teams, which surrendered a kickoff-return TD to Jacoby Ford and a TD pass from P Shane Lechler to TE Kevin Boss on a fake field goal.
