Vikings-Bears prediction

PFW associate editor Dan Parr makes his prediction for the outcome of Sunday's game between the Vikings and Bears.

There are good reasons to pick against the Bears tonight. Two young, unreliable players will start at safety, one of the league's best defensive end tandems will be lining up across from Chicago's porous offensive line and Julius Peppers' knee sprain is a concern … I could go on.

Players without much experience are going to have to step up for the Bears to have a chance to get a win they badly need.

Adrian Peterson will be productive against a run defense that has really struggled in the past two games, but the Bears' "D" will be more disciplined with Brandon Meriweather out of the starting lineup. With the yards not coming in bunches, the Vikings will be forced to be patient and a couple poor throws by Donovan McNabb will prove costly.

The Bears' offense will play a clean game and do just enough to stay in the game. A late field goal by Robbie Gould will seal a win.

Prediction: Bears 23, Vikings 21

Season record: 4-1
