The Patriots signed DT Marcus Harrison and cut DB Phillip Adams, the team announced Friday.
Harrison was a third-round pick by the Bears in 2008. In three disappointing seasons with Chicago, he had 55 tackles and three sacks.
Adams was a seventh-round selection by the 49ers in 2010 and played 15 games for San Francisco last season. He was signed by New England in late September, but did not see game action.
The way we see it
The move to sign Harrison brings depth to a defensive line that has been depleted by injuries, most recently the season-ending concussion suffered by DT Mike Wright, who was placed on I.R.
Harrison has some talent, but conditioning issues plagued him during his time with the Bears.
