Few would argue that Colts OG Mike Pollak, a second-round pick in 2008, has not lived up to expectations. Shuffled in and out of the starting lineup, Pollak is often mentioned with former Colts OT Tony Ugoh when discussing vice chairman Bill Polian's recent draft miscues. But since joining the starting lineup in Week Three following an injury to Ryan Diem, Pollak has answered the bell, helping to improve QB Curtis Painter's protection and making a case for remaining a starter. In Week Five against the Chiefs, Quinn Ojinnaka started at right tackle despite joining the Colts just three days earlier. He held up surprisingly well, thanks in part to Pollak, who helped him with audible calls and protections. On a recent radio show, Polian referred to Pollak, a free agent after the season, as a future anchor of the offensive line. Pollak long has been considered a candidate to replace C Jeff Saturday, who is in the twilight of his career.
