The last thing the Cardinals' secondary needed was the loss of starting FS Kerry Rhodes for what we hear will be a month or so after undergoing surgery for a broken bone in his left foot suffered in Week Five. "It's not a crushing blow," one daily team observer said. "(Head coach Ken) Whisenhunt said he was very pleased with Kerry, although I haven't seen him make any big plays this year. But he hasn't made any bad plays, either, and the guy replacing him (Rashad Johnson) has yet to prove he can be a starter." Making matters worse at the safety position has been the uneven play of veteran starting SS Adrian Wilson, who appears to be feeling the effects of his torn right biceps tendon suffered in the preseason. "Adrian is still laboring," the observer said. "He's failed a couple of times to make plays he appeared to be in a position to make, and he has been coming up short on his blitzes."
