The trial of former Broncos CB Perrish Cox on sexual assault charges has been postponed until February, the Associated Press reports.
The trial was scheduled to start on Tuesday, but was delayed until Feb. 27 at the request of the defense team.
The Broncos released Cox, a fifth-round draft pick by the team in 2010, last month.
He is charged with sexual assault against a person who was physically helpless and sexual assault against a person who was incapable of determining the nature of the conduct. He has pleaded not guilty and is free on bail.
Cox played in 15 games for Denver as a rookie, with nine starts. He had 58 tackles, 14 passes defensed, one interception and two forced fumbles.
