For the first time this season, the Packers' rookie spotlight was not focused on Randall Cobb. The team's flashy and versatile second-round pick took a backseat this past Sunday evening to first-round OT Derek Sherrod, who turned out to be a pleasant surprise in his first sustained action of the season.

Pressed into duty at right tackle after veteran OLT Chad Clifton was carted off the field with a hamstring injury, Sherrod, who had played only one snap in the first four games, got off to a shaky start Sunday but settled down nicely. Sherrod allowed a sack and a knockdown by Falcons DE Lawrence Sidbury but used his hands and long arms well and looked increasingly comfortable as the game wore on, taking on more one-on-one blocks. He was particularly impressive fending off Falcons DE Kroy Biermann on Aaron Rodgers' 17-yard TD pass off play-action to Greg Jennings.

Cobb continued to display flashes as a receiver, making two catches for 26 yards with a long of 16. He had two punt returns for four yards, three kickoffs for 67 yards and continued to display an ill-advised aversion on occasion to making fair catches.

Third-round RB Alex Green played once from the line of scrimmage and made a nice six-yard catch on a 3^rd-and-2 swing pass. Fifth-round TE D.J. Williams, who had a season-high play count of 16, made his first catch of his pro career for seven yards but had an uneven effort.

Seventh-round TE Ryan Taylor had one special-teams tackle.
