The Jets re-signed CB Ellis Lankster on Tuesday. To make room, the Jets cut LB Eddie Jones.

Lankster, who played in 10 games for the Bills in 2009, spent training camp with the Jets. The Jets lost a pair of defensive backs to injury in Sunday's loss to the Patriots. Donald Strickland suffered a head injury, and Isaiah Trufant pulled his hamstring.

Jones, an undrafted free agent out of Texas, was activated from the practice squad on Saturday, replacing Bryan Thomas on the 53-man roster. He appeared in Sunday's game against the Patriots but did not record a stat.
