Undrafted rookie WR Dane Sanzenbacher was one of Jay Cutler's top targets again in Week Five. He led all Bears receivers with six catches for 64 yards. Four of his six grabs resulted in first downs and he was targeted a team-high 10 times.
Sanzenbacher is second to Matt Forté among the Bears' leaders in receptions with 16.
Undrafted rookie LB Dom DeCicco and third-round pick S Chris Conte each contributed covering punt returns, with DeCicco recording two special-teams tackles and Conte making one. Conte also was called for a false start on a punt in the fourth quarter, which backed the Bears up from their own eight-yard line to their four-yard line. P Adam Podlesh had to punt of the endzone, and DeCicco tackled Stefan Logan after a 15-yard return.
The Bears had only seven defensive linemen active in the game, and second-round pick Stephen Paea was not one of them. He still has yet to be activated for a game this season, but he could get a chance this week with DT Matt Toeaina dealing with a knee injury.
First-round pick Gabe Carimi's status will be monitored closely this week. He's missed three games since suffering a subluxation of his right kneecap in Week Two and Frank Omiyale has struggled, getting benched in each of the past two games, in his place.
