Seahawks QB Tarvaris Jackson has a high-grade strained pectoral muscle and will not practice this week, head coach Pete Carroll told reporters at Monday's press conference.

Jackson left Sunday's win over the Giants after an 11-yard designed run. Charlie Whitehurst replaced Jackson in the 36-25 win.

Jackson completed 15-of-22 passes for 166 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the win. Whitehurst completed 11-of-19 passes for 149 yards and a 27-yard touchdown pass to Doug Baldwin.

Carroll said the team wouldn't bring in another quarterback. Whitehurst will work with the first-team offense and rookie Josh Portis is the backup. The Seahawks have a bye this week and play the Browns on Oct. 23. Carroll said Whitehurst will be ready to start if Jackson is unavailable for that game.
