Saints' Brown getting chance at right tackle

In what was a position of great stability for the Saints from 2006 through last season, health issues have kept them from establishing consistency at right tackle in 2011. Jon Stinchcomb, who had started 80 straight games heading into this season, entered training camp as the likely starter at right tackle, but knee and quad issues were limiting him. He was cut by the Saints on Aug. 15 and later announced he was retiring. The team turned to longtime backup Zach Strief to replace him, but Strief could be out for another couple of weeks with a sprained MCL in his right knee. OT Charles Brown made his first career start in Week Four, filling in for Strief. If Brown does a decent job and limits his mental errors, he could lock down the starting job and move ahead of Strief on the depth chart. We hear the coaching staff feels that Brown, a second-round pick in '10, is moving in the right direction.
