Colts QB Curtis Painter will start Sunday at home against the Chiefs, as starter Kerry Collins is still recovering from a concussion suffered Week Three against the Steelers. Head coach Jim Caldwell made the announcement on Friday morning.
It will be Painter's second consecutive start, and second of his career, after he took the reins last Monday night in the 24-17 loss against the Buccaneers. He threw for 281 yards and two touchdowns, but only managed to complete 13-of-30 passes.
The Way We See It
Painter has had positive moments in the action he's seen thus far, but has struggled to find consistency. He made a couple big plays in the passing game but struggling with shorter, simpler throws and is taking too many sacks.
The Colts' offense has improved each week and they will look to continue that this week against the Chiefs as they try to get their first win.
