The Eagles will start rookie first-round pick Danny Watkins Sunday at the Bills, benching ORG Kyle DeVan, according to reports.

The Wilmington News-Journal first reported the story.

Watkins was the starter at right guard through training camp until he was benched a week before the season started. He was replaced by DeVan, who was signed a week before the season. DeVan has started all four games thus far.

Watkins was inactive for three of the first four games.

The way we see it

The Eagles are looking for something to help improve their struggling offensive line. They have struggled in short-yardage and goal-to-go situations running the ball and pass protecting Michael Vick.

The Eagles are hoping that Watkins' size (310 pounds) and athleticism will help in both areas and help to turn around a disappointing 1-3 start.
