Here is a look at how the Patriots' first-year players performed in the team's Week Four win over the Raiders.
ORT Nate Solder (first round, 17th overall) — Solder got his second start in a row with Sebastian Vollmer still dealing with a back injury. Solder had a couple of very good blocks on some big runs as the Patriots finally got the ground game going.
RB Stevan Ridley (3, 73) — Ridley followed up a solid Week Three performance with a big game against a physical Oakland front. Ridley had 97 yards on 10 carries, including a 33-yard touchdown run. With Danny Woodhead dealing with an ankle injury, Ridley should expect to see more touches in the coming weeks.
Notes: CB Ras-I Dowling (2,33) was inactive for the second game in a row with an injury. ... RB Shane Vereen (2, 56) was active and played but did not record any stats. ... QB Ryan Mallett (3, 74) was inactive. ... LB Jeff Tarpinian (undrafted) had one special-teams tackle. ... LS Danny Aiken (undrafted) remains perfect on his snaps.
