Patriots RB Danny Woodhead left Sunday's win over the Raiders and did not return. He sprained his ankle and reportedly avoided a major injury.
According to PFW correspondent and Boston Herald writer Ian Rapoport, Woodhead escaped "major damage" on his ankle and it is just a sprain.
Woodhead had two carries in the game. With Woodhead out, rookie Stevan Ridley had a big game with 97 yards rushing.
It is unclear if Woodhead will be available for Sunday's game against the Jets.
The way we see it
With Ridley's performance, the Patriots don't need to rush Woodhead back necessarily, but he is still very key, especially for the third-down offense because of his abilities as a blocker and a receiver.
