The Panthers claimed rookie S Jermale Hines off waivers, the team announced on Tuesday. To make room, Carolina waived S Sean Considine.

The Colts cut Hines on Monday to add an extra offensive lineman, Mike Tepper, off their practice squad. Hines was a fifth-round pick by the Rams in April's draft and has not played in a regular-season game.

Considine had played in all four Panthers games this season. Last year, with the Jaguars, he played in 14 games, with five starts, and recorded 52 tackles, three passes defensed and an interception.
