Here are the players of the week — on offense, defense and special teams — from the Vikings' 22-17 loss to the Chiefs on Sunday.

Offense — WR Percy Harvin

The Vikings have faced criticism for not giving Harvin enough snaps on offense, but against the Chiefs, he made the most of his opportunities. He had five receptions for 42 yards and four carries for 67 yards. He was explosive running the ball off of reverses, and the Vikings need to continue to find ways to get the ball into his hands, as he is easily the most explosive player on the offense outside of Adrian Peterson.

Defense — DE Jared Allen

Allen wasn't consistently pressuring Matt Cassel on Sunday, surprising given the emotion of returning to Kansas City and facing a left tackle in Branden Albert who has had his struggles. However, Allen still had two sacks, using his relentless motor to chase down Cassel from behind on two rollouts.

Special Teams — PK Ryan Longwell

Longwell receives the award by default, connecting on his one field-goal attempt and both point-after tries, as it was a disappointing day for the kickoff and punt coverage, as well as P Chris Kluwe.
