Patriots DT Albert Haynesworth did not make the trip to Oakland for New England's Week Four game against the Raiders. The Pats downgraded Haynesworth and CBs Ras-I Dowling and Leigh Bodden to out.
Haynesworth missed last week's game and was listed as questionable with a back injury. He did not practice Thursday or Friday. Bodden (groin) and Dowling (hip) were also listed as questionable. Dowling missed last week's game against the Bills.
Haynesworth has two tackles in two games for the Pats this season. Bodden has 13 tackles and three passes defensed this season.
The way we see it
The Patriots are already thin on the interior of their D-line and could use a healthy Haynesworth to get penetration up the middle. Gerard Warren, who was re-signed this week, may need to get on the field right away on Sunday, as Mike Wright is also out with an injury.
Bodden and Dowling are the team's No. 2 and 3 corners, respectively, meaning Kyle Arrington should get the start opposite Devin McCourty. Arrington has played well this season, but will need help from safeties Sergio Brown and Josh Barrett over the top against Oakland's speedy receivers. Expect more time from Antwaun Molden as well.
