The Ravens' willingness to air it out — and their ability to connect on some of the long throws that marked their rout of the Rams — certainly gives the opposition something to ponder. For starters, teams know how dangerous the Ravens' running game can be. The Titans emphasized stopping Ray Rice in Week Two — and largely succeeded. In Week Three at St. Louis, the Ravens came out throwing, with Joe Flacco throwing 13 passes and the Ravens attempting just six rushes in the first quarter. By game's end, Flacco had thrown a career-high 48 passes for a career-high 389 yards in Baltimore's 37-7 win. Through three games, Baltimore had attempted 115 pass plays (passes and sacks) out of 189 total offensive snaps (60.8 percent). In Flacco's three full seasons as a starter, the Ravens have never tried to pass on more than 53.8 percent of their offensive plays in the regular season.
