Here's a key matchup to watch in Sunday's Vikings-Chiefs game.

Vikings wide receivers vs. Chiefs cornerbacks

The Vikings' passing game has been pedestrian so far this season, gaining only 143 yards per game. Part of that has to do with the inconsistent play of QB Donovan McNabb. But it would be unfair to place all the blame on him, as he's throwing to a mediocre group of receivers.

Outside of Percy Harvin, the receiving crops is devoid of playmakers. Michael Jenkins emerged a bit last week against the Lions as a possession receiver, but otherwise the receivers have been quiet, especially in the second half when everyone on the Vikings has been quiet.

This week, the team goes up against a solid, underrated group of Chiefs cornerbacks. Brandon Flowers is one of the better cover men in the league and his physical play at the line could cause problems for players like Jenkins and Bernard Berrian, who are finesse players. Brandon Carr is a solid second corner with good speed.

Getting separation is imperative for the receivers to help the struggling McNabb. While the Chiefs' secondary and defense had its fair share of problems in the first two games, it played well last week containing Philip Rivers, Vincent Jackson and an explosive Chargers passing game.

If the Vikings' receivers are unable to have much success against the Chiefs' corners, then McNabb and the rest of the offense will struggle.
