While we hear they don't think it will happen, the Cardinals can ill afford to lose veteran starting LOLB Clark Haggans, one of eight players mentioned in a recent Yahoo! Sports report who could be suspended for violating the NFL's personal-conduct policy during the lockout. Haggans' supposed transgression was a speeding incident in Las Vegas while rushing home to attend to a family emergency. The only other time Haggans was reportedly in any kind of trouble was in a bar fight in college, and his agent told team sources he did not think his client will be disciplined. The Cardinals hope that turns out to be the case. Familiar with defensive coordinator Ray Horton's Steelers-style defense from his time in Pittsburgh, Haggans has played well early in the season, especially against the run. Said one team insider: "When you couple that with how thin the team is at outside linebacker, it would be a big loss."
