Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick and Packers QB Aaron Rodgers highlighted the NFL's Players of the Month for September.

Fitzpatrick took home the AFC honors after leading the Bills to a surprising 3-0 start, including two comeback wins, one of which was the team's first win over the Patriots since 2003. Fitzpatrick has thrown nine touchdowns and three interceptions and has a QB rating of 103.5.

Rodgers, the defending Super Bowl MVP, has picked up from where he left off, starting in the NFL's season opener against the Saints, when he threw for 312 yards and three scores. Rodgers has thrown eight TDs and just one pick, leading Green Bay to an undefeated record.

Browns LB D'Qwell Jackson, who missed all of 2010 with an injury and played in only six games in 2009, was named the AFC's Defensive Player of the Month. He has 30 tackles, 2½ sacks, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery for the 2-1 Browns.

Cowboys LB Sean Lee was the NFC's Defensive Player of the Month. Lee has two interceptions and 31 tackles for Dallas.

Raiders PK Sebastian Janikowski and Lions PK Jason Hanson were their respective conference's special-teams players of the month. Janikowski tied an NFL record with a 63-yard field goal in the season opener. Hanson, 41, has converted all eight field goals he has attempted, including the game-winner over the Vikings.

Panthers QB Cam Newton, the No. 1 overall pick in April's draft, was named the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Month. Newton exploded onto the scene with back-to-back 400-yard passing games to start his career. He has thrown four touchdowns and run for two more for Carolina.

Redskins OLB Ryan Kerrigan was named the league's Defensive Rookie of the Month. Kerrigan returned an interception nine yards for a score in his first career game. He has three passes defensed and 1½ sacks in three games.
